My interest in broadcasting started when I was 12. I built my own internet radio station and collected money to put together a professional studio setup. By the time I walked into WNHU, I already loved broadcasting, but I didn’t know where it could actually take me.​

Then I met John Ramsey at the station. He became a friend and encouraged me to look into the engineering side of broadcasting. That conversation changed the entire direction of my life.

​I went from being someone behind a microphone to someone who wanted to understand how all of it actually worked, from the signal and transmission to the systems behind every broadcast.

​

WNHU is where that shifted. I didn’t just play music. I ran operations, programmed the automation that kept the station going, broadcast live home football games, and served on the leadership and promotions teams. I was involved from every angle.

Later, when the Society of Broadcast Engineers awarded me the Robert D. Greenberg Scholarship, they cited my time at WNHU in the recognition. A national organization looked at where I started, and it was this station.

I went on to WQUN, professional engineering, and television. It all traces back here.
 

WNHU wasn’t just college radio to me. It was where a kid who built a studio in his house met someone who told him he could do more, and believed in him.
